1.Backup to CD ROM burner

The Roxio (née Adaptec) Easy CD Creator is not suitable for routine backup because it makes you respectively the list of files to backup every time. If you use their layout save, it won't capture new file in the directories you back up, and it complains about any deleted files.

2.Directory and File Explorer

This  project aims to create something like Microsoft File Explorer, but that works on any Java platform. It aims to bring back some of the ease of the old Lotus Magellan or QDOS for DOS. This is more of a programmer's tool than an end user's tool.

3.Password Protector

This is a sort of software wallet for passwords. I have dozens of passwords and CD-keys. There is no way I can remember them all. It is not wise to have them all recorded in a flat file anyone could snoop at, or on a piece of paper in a desk drawer. This program remembers your passwords, and stores them in a secure encrypted way.

4.People Finder

The intent of this project is to easily find somebody's address, phone number or email address using various databases on the web. You have to enter the name of the person you are search for in many different formats, one for each search engine

5.TV Controller

The purpose of this device is to manage a television. It does the following:

• Collects schedule information electronically from the Internet or from encoded TV signals. For purposes of a prototype, you could scan TV Guide listings into machine readable form.
• Lets you search programs in the coming weeks with keywords and categories. You do most of your program planning with computer's keyboard and mouse.
• Automatically records programs digitally with one click. Those programs will ever after be recorded, even if they appear at different times on different channels. Ideally it would avoid recording duplicate episodes. Perhaps it could even be smart enough to detect duplicates all on its own by comparing.
• Lets you kill file channels or programs you definitely never want to see on your menus again.
• Let you temporarily kill file a program when you are channel surfing, to narrow down the possibilities.
• Delete commercials.
• Automatic volume adjust to cap extremely noisy sections or bring up overly quiet ones.
• Give you instant replay and pause on ordinary programs.
• Integrates program sources, e.g. live, recorded, CD, AM/FM, audio tape, DVD, video tape, satellite, the Internet, cable seamlessly.
• Controlled by a single remote with a bare minimal number of buttons.
• Lets you add searchable notes to the recorded materials.
• Configurable so that several different people can share a TV without interfering with each other’s programming and configuration choices

6. Internet Radio

The intent of this project is to come up with a very low cost, low-broadcast-bandwidth Internet radio.
This project is to invent a new distributed protocol for Internet Radio that requires only a modest server no matter how many listeners there are.

7.Bus Information

This is a website to offer bus route and schedule information in a more usable format

• It shows you bus routes in variable resolution so you can zoom in for detail. You don't have to see other bus routes other than the one of current interest. You might implement this for ordinary browsers and for portable small browsers.
• You can show the bus map not as a line, but as a moving dot that follows the route.
• It shows you schedule information, in abbreviated form — when it the next bus at a given stop or when is the next bus after a given time.
